Volunteer

The Four Summit Challenge takes a lot of planning and effort from a wide variety of people in our community. Volunteers provide support along the Four Summit Challenge Course, as well as many hours spent prior to and after the event. Community members show their support of the ride by volunteering for various positions. These pools of volunteers, The Capricorns, work hard behind the scenes of the ride to ensure a great experience for all involved.

Capricorns are known for their surefootedness, creativity, dependability, intelligence, and calmness. This truly depicts a team that is 100% behind the Four Summit Challenge Logo - a goat named Lightening - whose motto is “Ride like a Goat.” We truly appreciate the collaborative efforts from our community that make events such as the Four Summit Challenge a huge success.

Volunteer to run an aid station

Volunteer to run an aid or water station and earn money for your Cascade organization.

Located in Cascade Valley’s stunning mountain range, the Four Summit Challenge course covers the two mountain passes along Warm Lake Road. This challenging course attracts cyclists from a wide variety of places and can include up to 750 riders. The ride starts at the American Legion Hall and proceeds down Main Street to Warm Lake Road. The riders have a choice to ride one, two, three, or four summits. The ride includes Big Creek Summit and Warm Lake Summit descending to Landmark. At Landmark, or their summit of choice, these extremists turn around and backtrack, once again returning to their starting point.

Along this course are key locations consisting of three water and three aid stations, which provide food and drink and support to the cyclists. We are accepting applications from Cascade community groups to operate these stations: transportation, setup, run, and disassemble. Your time commitment would be from 6:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. on the date of the event. Your organization must have a minimum of three to six people at your station at all times (minimum number will depend on station you are operating). All the supplies and equipment are provided by the Four Summit Board. It is our intent to provide funds to the organizations that are selected to manage these stations. We are offering $300 for water stations and $500 for aid stations. The applications will be randomly selected to fill the six positions.

Water / Aid Stations
